Glory to God, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Washington-New York and Eastern America, we had our Orthodox Synaxis on this last Friday of September at our Parish of the Holy Resurrection of Christ.
The evening event traditionally started with the service of the Supplicatory Canon to the Most Holy Theotokos (Paraklisis) served by our parish priest V. Rev. Fr. Borjan Vitanov, V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Mayer (ROC) and V. Rev. Fr. Vjekoslav Jovicic (OCA) and proceeded with the Synaxis gathering in the Church Hall.
Our guest speaker was V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Mayer, a parish priest at St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of the Russian Orthodox Church in Reading PA. In his lecture Fr. Daniel kept the attention of the many young people, who came and listened about the Mystery of Repentance and Confession and engaged in late hour discussion during the Q&A session towards the end of the evening.
We would like to thank everyone who made this event successful and for the enthusiasm of those directly involved in this event which, with God's help, and through the prayers of His Grace Bishop Irinej of Washington-New York and Eastern America, many people can come and learn about the beauty and the depth of the Orthodox Faith.
